Tesi (becoming Sunny) Chûn Quoit (2024) Sarah Macdonald

Chûn Quoit, the only intact quoit in Penwith, is thought by some to channel and concentrate the earth’s energy, recharging objects within its structure. In this piece, I contrast “fat” and “thin” painting to express different energies: inky shadows suggest dense, concentrated force, while the sparse landscape reflects the light, parched terrain. Using acrylics and ink, I capture the enduring essence and mystery of this ancient monument.
