Lizard Landscape was inspired by a camping trip to The Lizard with my daughter. We both fell for the way the serpentine rocks glowed in the warm light. The colours of that summer day, all soft dusty pinks and golden tones, lingered long after.

The piece combines watercolour ink and oil, using new techniques like matte varnish as an ink resist. The wax-sealed surface gives the painting depth and a gentle, velvety sheen.
